  "Overlapping generations" and silent movies

  i'm a big fan of tcm, the cable channel that shows old movies without commercial interruption.. last night they showed "the birth of a nation", the famous (infamous?

  ) dw griffith silent classic that defends the ku klux klan.. the movie was made in 1915 - 96 years ago.. as i was watching it, it occurred to me, "all these actors are now dead.

  most have been dead for 50, 60, 70 or more years.

  my b&q party

  as a jw, i invited about 15 brothers to my garden party for a b&q.. we had a long table outside on the lawn for everyone to sit to.. just about as the meals were to be served, the guy in charge for the grill, whipered in my ear, that brother elder will do the thanks prayer before we start to eat.. at that time i didn t know how to respond, i just let him do it.

  but thinking back as being the host of the do, i could of reacted in a different manner.

  something like: "oh, so your prayers have more inpact than mine then, because you re the elder here, and i m just the stupid dickhead host?".

  i remember a non JW (study) do the prayer because it was his house?! i thought that was cool and there were elders, ms there.

  80% Accept Blood Transfusion

  80% accept blood transfusion.

  i added a new article on my blog citing a 1995 medical study finding something interesting about blood transfusion and young folks among jehovahs witnesses.

  the study shows that at least 80% (5 out of 6) accept allogeneic red blood cell transfusions or else their witness parents accept it on their behalf and without need of court-order.

  Do people praying out loud in public disturb you?

  i am sitting here in a study lounge.

  when i got here around 15 minutes ago the only ones here were two young ladies and a young man, sitting around a table with their eyes closed.

  the young man was talking.

  uggg working in a hospital i get to hear it on a regular basis. when they get loud I need to walk away cuz my blood presure stats going up! Had to lsten to JW elder a few weeks ago. I found it funny

  JW's have NO right to criticize the destruction of forests

  g90 3/22 pg 8: deforestation is much the same.

  humans enjoy the forests, depend on them, in fact.

  but they keep killing off the equivalent of the players: the individual species of plants and animals, whose complex interplay is what keeps the forest alive.

  since i woke up from the delusion of the jw cult, i have seen things very differently.. it seems to me that all the gb and their suck ups gear up for is money and/or power.. eg.

  brothers in cheap salesman suits on the platform.

  the 'clean' image.

  i have noticed are more angrier then when i was a child in the 90's and that they seem more uptight.what changes have you seen?.

  they don't talk to me, or even look at me!

  I do think they are more paranoid, satan, demons, apotates

  there is the "strong" JW that are snobs and then the "weak" ones that could almost pass for nonJW's

  They seem scared, oh that's all I get from them cuz they run away from me

  james olsen and richaed wheellock both bethelites.. rich templet.

  rich and james out of guilt, richard out of depression.. james and rich were both under 30 years old.. after richard wheelock (a bethel heavy) killed himself the society changed it's stand on whether suicides could be resurrectioned or not..

  I can only speak with my experiance in life... I was suicidal most of my JW life and would never consider it now!

  it's a subject that comes up fairly often here (understandably) and very strong opinions are expressed.

  much of the discussion seems to be counterproductive.. i'd like to propose a different approach.

  we all know what each other's conclusions are (or at least we should by now).

  tiss why i want to be cremated... can you think that your skull will be looked at by 100's of people 100's of years from now? your not just naked your dead and naked... just saying... I don't know what I think yet, I want to believe in God, but?
